FAQ

Everything clients ask us, answered.

Pricing, timelines, ownership, reporting, international engagements, and how the work actually runs day to day.

How long does SEO take to show results?

Technical fixes, page structure, and local listing work usually show movement within four to eight weeks. Competitive ranking for commercial terms takes three to six months, sometimes longer in crowded markets. Anyone promising faster is describing something other than SEO.

Can you guarantee a number one Google ranking?

No, and neither can anyone else. Rankings depend on competitors, Google algorithm changes, and factors nobody controls. What we guarantee is the work, a monthly report of where you rank and why that moved, and honesty when a keyword is not worth pursuing.

What is the difference between local SEO and regular SEO?

Local SEO targets searches with geographic intent, where Google shows a map and three business listings. It depends heavily on your Google Business Profile, reviews, and local consistency. Regular organic SEO competes for the standard results below that. For most service businesses local is faster and higher return.

Do I need to blog for SEO to work?

Not necessarily. Well-built service pages often matter more than a blog. Blogging helps when your buyers genuinely research before deciding and you can answer their questions better than what currently ranks. Publishing thin articles to hit a weekly target actively hurts.

What is a Google Business Profile and why does it matter so much?

It is the listing that appears in Google Maps and local results. For a business serving a specific area it is often the single highest-return thing to maintain, because it appears above the normal results and it is free. Complete information, real photographs, correct categories, genuine reviews, and regular posts.

How do you choose which keywords to target?

By intent and realism rather than search volume alone. A term with 200 monthly searches from people ready to buy beats one with 20,000 from people browsing. We also assess whether the current results page is winnable, because ranking against directories and national brands may not be.

Will changing my website hurt my rankings?

It can, if redirects are handled badly. Every old URL needs to point to its new equivalent, and content that ranked needs to survive the rewrite. Done properly a rebuild usually improves rankings. Done carelessly it can undo years of work, which is why the redirect map is planned before launch.

What is schema markup and do I need it?

It is structured code that tells search engines what a page represents: a business, a service, an article, an FAQ. It does not directly improve rankings but it helps you appear correctly, and it increasingly matters for how AI search tools understand and cite you. We include it as standard.

Do backlinks still matter?

Yes, but quality over quantity, and buying them is a genuine risk rather than a shortcut. We focus on links you can actually earn: directories relevant to your industry, local business listings, partners and suppliers, press coverage, and content worth citing.

How does SEO work for AI answers and chatbots?

Broadly the same things help: clear structure, direct answers to real questions, schema markup, and content that is genuinely authoritative. AI tools cite sources that answer a question cleanly. Vague marketing copy performs badly in both traditional search and AI answers.
