FAQ

Everything clients ask us, answered.

Pricing, timelines, ownership, reporting, international engagements, and how the work actually runs day to day.

Should we build custom software or buy something off the shelf?

Buy, in most cases. If an existing product covers eighty percent of your needs at a fraction of the cost, take it and adapt your process. Custom is justified when your process is genuinely unusual, when per-user fees have grown beyond the cost of ownership, or when the system is the business itself.

How much does custom software cost?

It depends almost entirely on scope, which is the one thing under your control. A focused internal tool is typically four to eight weeks of work. A CRM or operations system with several roles and reporting runs three to five months. We quote a defined first version rather than an open-ended engagement.

Do we own the software you build?

Yes. Code, data, and ownership are yours as set out in the agreement. The code lives in a repository you can access and the hosting is in your account. We would rather earn ongoing work by being good at it than by being the only people who understand the system.

What happens to our existing data?

It gets migrated as its own piece of work: extract, examine, clean, map, import to a test environment, and your team verifies against records they know. Nothing is deleted from the old system until you confirm the new one is correct.

How do you handle security?

Role-based permissions so people see only what their job needs, hashed credentials, encrypted connections, protection against standard attacks, and an audit trail recording who changed what. The audit trail usually answers innocent questions and occasionally answers a serious one.

Does my business actually need a mobile app?

Often not. An app requires someone to find it, install it, and keep it, and a mobile website clears most of that friction instantly. An app earns its place when people use it repeatedly, when it needs to work offline, or when it uses the camera, GPS, or notifications meaningfully.

Should we build for Android or iOS first?

It depends on your actual audience rather than a default. For most Indian and Gulf markets Android reaches far more people. For the US, UK, and Australia iOS carries more weight. Cross-platform frameworks usually let you cover both from one codebase at significantly lower cost.

How long does app development take?

A focused first version is typically eight to sixteen weeks, with design and specification taking the first three or four. Anything quoted much faster is either simpler than it sounds or will arrive incomplete.

Why do you recommend a small first version?

Because most failed apps were too large at launch. Every feature added before real users existed was a guess, and wrong guesses still have to be maintained. We build the one job the app must do properly, then expand based on what users actually do.
